The Director of Research at the Institute of Economic Affairs (IEA) Dr John Kwakye has said that managers of the economy, both past and present especially those who will be seeking the mandate of Ghanaians, must render accountability on how they managed the economy.
He said this is critical in ensuring that the right persons are given the nod to lead the country.
In the view of Dr Kwakye, rendering accountability should be the core issue ahead of the 2024 general elections.
“It is only fair for us to demand full accountability from our past and present economic managers, especially those who seek our political mandate. That should be a key issue in 2024,” he tweeted.

Dr Kwakye further noted that high food inflation in Ghana is likely to get worse as Ukrainian supplies are going to be restricted once more.
In his view, this poses a challenge for monetary policy.
