Popular Ghanaian reggae/dancehall artist Mustapha Rahman, better known as Rudebwoy Ranking, has reportedly passed on after a brief illness.
Fans and family members of the ‘Hero’ singer shared the unfortunate news in the wee hours of Monday, April 24, 2023.
According to sources close to the matter, the former BullHaus entertainment act died at the Greater Accra Regional Hospital formerly Ridge Hospital in Accra where he was undergoing treatment.
In accordance with Islamic customs, the body of the deceased was buried at the Madina Cemetery at mid-afternoon shortly after a Muslim burial service was performed at the Mamobi Mosque.
Known for songs including ‘Jah Over Dem’, ‘No Drama’, ‘Yaro’, ‘Level Up’, ‘My Time’, and many others, Rudebwoy was signed onto RawMind Records before his untimely death.
Several fans took to social media to eulogize him and his contribution to the birth of the dancehall genre in Ghana.
“RIP Rudebwoy thanks for sharing your voice to the world thru music,” a user posted
Others also launched attacks and condemned the media and colleagues who neglected him whiles he was alive and needed support.
