Former Finance Minister Dr Kwabena Duffuor has said he still has confidence in his son Kwabena Duffuor Jnr. who was managing uniBank until the collapse.

He believed that the bank was doing well under the management of Duffuor Jnr.

uniBank was among the domestic banks that collapsed during the financial sector clean up exercise undertaken by the Bank of Ghana (BoG).

Dr Kwabena Duffuor said he did not feel slighted by the system after the business failed.

“I don’t think so,” Dr Duffuor told TV3’s Paa Kwasi Asare in an interview when asked whether he felt slighted by the system.

“I still have confidence in my son who was running the business. He was banker for a very long time, there was nothing wrong about what my son did,” he added.

He further indicated that he was not involved in the day-to-day management of all his businesses.

The former Governor of the central bank was however quick to add that matters surrounding the closure of the bank are in court therefore, he would wait until the court’s determination in order to know the way forward.

He said “I was not on the board, I was out of management, I had had put in pace blind trust and all my companies were being managed by board of trustees, I was not managing any of these companies. As we speak now the case is in court.”
