Premier League side Nottingham Forest are aiming to secure the services of Strasbourg defender Alexander Djiku whose contract is set to expire at the end of the month.
According to top French news outfit L’equipe, Nottingham Forest have submitted a proposal to secure the transfer of the Black Stars centre-back who has also attracted interest from other clubs.
However, Strasbourg are determined to keep their captain following the recent investment by BlueCo, owners of Chelsea Football Club.
Nottingham Forest who were relegation-bound last season are aiming to beef up their defence ahead of the upcoming season and the 28-year-old has emerged as a great option.
Djiku missed out on securing a move to Europa League Champions Sevilla last season following the Spanish club’s inability to meet his asking price set by Strasbourg.
He is also being monitored by other clubs like Strasbourg’s competitors in Ligue 1, Lille. Turkish giants Besiktas also expressed interest in the highly-rated defender before the end of the season.
Bundesliga side Mainz are also aiming to reunite the defender with former Strasbourg players Anthony Caci and Ludovic Ajorque who are playing in Mainz.
