Ghanaian influencer and musician Hajia4Real, also known as Mona Faiz Montrage, has finally confirmed the rumours surrounding her arrest in the United Kingdom.
The popular social media personality acknowledged that she was indeed fitted with a GPS tracking device on her ankle while facing charges related to wire fraud, money laundering, and receipt of stolen money.
The confirmation came through a statement read by Kofi Adoma Nwawanni on Kofi Tv.
Hajia4Real disclosed, “When I was in the UK, I used to go out from 6 am to 6 pm. They granted me that opportunity because I had a GPS tracker on my ankle which enabled them to monitor my movements. I had the tracker on for 6 months in London, and they realized I am not a bad person because I did not try to escape.”
Her arrest in the UK took place sometime last year, and it was reported that she was wearing a GPS leg tracker, allowing the authorities to closely monitor her whereabouts.
At the time, her management and PR team refuted these allegations as mere lies. However, with her recent confirmation, the truth has now come to light.
On October 31, 2022, Mona, along with other Ghanaian artists, attended the Ghana Music Awards UK.
However, she did not return as expected and instead remained active on her social media accounts, posting pictures taken on the streets of London.
Eventually, she was extradited from the United Kingdom to the United States of America in May 2023 to face the charges brought against her.
The Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) unsealed a six-count federal indictment against Hajia4Real, real name Mona Faiz Montrage, on Monday, May 14, 2023.
Hajia4Real, whose real name is Mona Moutrage has gained significant attention as an influencer on various social media platforms.
Her indictment case has drawn even more scrutiny due to her popularity and online following.
