Award-winning, Ghanaian gospel singer, Joseph Oscar Nii Armah Mettle also known as Joe Mettle has shared his regrets about not taking his music lessons more seriously during his school years.
Joe Mettle who attended Accra Academy for his Senior High School education and Pentecost University for his Tertiary education admitted that he didn’t have any intention of pursuing music at the time and, therefore, didn’t give it the attention it deserved.
In an interview with Graphic Showbiz, the VGMA 2017 Artiste of the Year, stated, “I think I should have taken my music lessons seriously when I was in school. At that time, I didn’t know I would be taking it up one day so I didn’t take it seriously. That is one regret I have in life.”
Despite this regret, Joe Mettle has established an impressive musical career, boasting seven albums, numerous awards, a music studio, Reverb and a famous music band, Love Gift.
Reflecting on his journey, Joe Mettle shared his contentment with the person he has become and the path God has set for him.
He stated, “I won’t choose who I am over anything. I think I love what God has made me and I love the assignment He has given me. Aside from everything, I enjoy serving in this ministry. I love to sing; I love to write. So I just love who I am and what I do.”
Away from music, Joe Mettle expressed his joy in his marriage to his wife, Salomey Selassie Dzisa, whom he married in 2020.
He shared, “As you can see, marriage is treating me very well. The evidence is there. My family is doing great, and I thank God for everything.”
Joe Mettle also expressed his gratitude to his fans for their unwavering support. He said, “I want to say thank you for supporting the gift and ministry God has given me. I believe that ministry is about people. So if they don’t support you, you have no ministry. Thank you for the prayers, the thoughts, and everything you do to support what God has called me to do.”
