The Director of Communications for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Richard Ahiagbah has said that the main opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) should be the last to be pointing fingers due to the economic challenges.

Although he admits that Ghanaians are going through challenges he said were mainly occasioned by the Covid outbreak and the Russia-Ukraine war, the government is working to solve those challenges.

He recounted that although the NDC did not have any major global setbacks during their tenure, they destroyed the buoyant economy that they inherited from the Kuffuor administration in 2009.

In a tweet, Mr Ahiagbah said “I concede that there are challenges with the economy following the disruptions of Covid-19 and the Russia-Ukraine War.

“Ghanaians are struggling as citizens the world over, and this government is committed to regenerating the economy. But the NDC who in good times (that is no Covid-19 or Russia-Ukraine War) vanquished the growing economy they inherited are the last to point fingers.

“The data below shows NDC’s dismal performance compared to the NPP. 2024 is about solutions and we know the NDC does not have one. We are working for Ghana.”
