Yes, Wizkid introduced him on stage last Saturday at Ghana Meets Naija and even called him a brother. Yes, they even hugged but self-acclaimed Dancehall King, Shatta Wale displayed he is not one to easily give up a position. He just could not help but insist he is the bigger star between the two.
At the Fantasy Dome, Trade Fair Centre, Accra, where the concert took place, Shatta Wale, real name Charles Nii Armah Mensah stopped midway in his act to say “Wizkid is a superstar but me, me, I am a f*cking superstar” as if to remind the former of the comments to that effect last year.
The Enter The Net hitmaker started a social media war last year when he said he did not recognize Wizkid, real name Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun as a superstar, a comment that did not go down well fans of the Nigerian and resulted in both artists’ fans exchanging insults.
So it seemed the heat between the two camps had cooled down last Saturday when the multi-award winning Nigerian Afrobeats star introduced Shatta Wale on stage as his brother. Shatta Wale showed his appreciation for Wizkid’s kind words by hugging him on stage before putting his set into gear.
As if to let Wizkid know that making up on stage was not an admission that he had lowered his stance that he is a bigger star, the boss of the Shatta Movement while performing his Freedom and currently reigning Gringo hit songs stopped midway to address Wizkid as a superstar yet called himself a “f*cking” superstar.
