The Twelve boxers representing Ghana at the African qualifying tournament for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris have all been kicked out.
The Black Bombers’ hopes were on Theophilus Kpakpo Allotey to save the face of the team after he managed to reach the semifinal.
Allotey got past Ugandan, Fathia Shafik Mawanda in the quarterfinal round of the men’s flyweight division.
Allotey came up against Ala Eddine Zidi of Tunisia in the semifinal on Thursday but also failed to progress to the final.
He needed to progress and win his division to qualify for the Olympic Games.
Allotey’s defeat follows Wednesday’s losses suffered by Ornella Sathoud, Joseph Commey and Jonathan Tetteh to add up to the already eight ousted from the qualifying event in Dakar, Senegal.
The Black Bombers will have another chance to qualify some boxers to compete at the Olympic Games, with a qualifying tournament scheduled for November in Paris.
