Ghana international Andre Ayew returned to the pitch on Wednesday, April 4, in Nottingham Forest’s defeat to Leeds United in the Premier League.
The 33-year-old replaced Emmanuel Dennis in the second half of the game after the Nigerian looked to have picked up an injury.
During his 19 minutes cameo, Ayew won three out of the five duels he competed in while also making one clearance.
However, his side was unable to hold on to a 12th-minute lead as they ended up losing 1-2 away from home.
Ayew suffered a knee injury during the international break as Ghana faced Angola in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers where he was forced to pull out of the squad for the return leg in Luanda.
Prior to withdrawing from the squad, the Black Stars captain also failed to play any minutes in the first game at the Baba Yara Stadium.
Since joining the Premier League returnees, Ayew has featured in eight games but has only started once.
