Bechem United have confirmed they sold striker Hafiz Konkoni to Tanzanian side Young Africans for $100,000.
The transfer finalised was made on Saturday, with Konkoni, who earned a debut Black Stars call-up in June, embarking on a new chapter in his career in Tanzania.
Young Africans were particularly drawn to Konkoni’s goal-scoring prowess, evident from his impressive record of 15 goals in the previous Ghana Premier League season, which significantly contributed to Bechem United’s top-four finish.

Emmanuel Atuahene, the Public Relations Officer of Bechem United, shed light on the transfer process during an interview with Akoma 87.9 FM, stating, “Hafiz Konkoni was initially set to join Al Hilal of Sudan, but due to complications in the personal terms, he returned to Ghana.”
With Young Africans securing the deal at the desired fee, other interested parties, including Hearts of Oak, were unable to match the offer. Atuahene confirmed, “I can confirm that Hafiz was sold for $100,000 with 20% onward transfer for Bechem. Hearts couldn’t have purchased Hafiz because what they (Hearts) proposed was 10% of what Yanga offered for him.”
