The Church of Pentecost has proposed the development of a Moral Vision Plan to inform the country’s development plan.

The proposal comes after a two-day National Development Conference held at the Pentecost Convention Center (PCC) in Gomoa Fetteh in the Central Region.

The Conference saw in attendance leadership from all spheres of the country.

Former Presidents John Agyekum Kufuor and John Dramani Mahama as well as Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia led the political leadership to the Conference.

It was themed: ‘Moral Vision and National Development’.

A communique issued after the conference noted how the moral character of the nation has dipped, leading to disrespect in public discourse, among others.

It, therefore, recommended the establishment of a National Moral and Integrity Council (NMIC) with the stature like the National Peace Council “to begin the process of restoration of generations of decay and moral decadence that Ghana has experienced over the years”.

It said the National Development Conference will be a regular feature “to engage with stakeholders on the issue of moral vision and its impact on the development of our country”.

It also recommended an urgent development and implementation of a national moral reorientation programme for the citizens, particularly the youth.

“We believe this conference will be the watershed for moral, ethical and sound re-awakening for Ghanaians and Africa,” it concluded.
