Manager of Keche, George Britton has added his voice to the beef between the late Ebony’s father and her manager, Ricky Agyemang popularly known as Bullet.
A few days ago, reports were rife in the media that the ‘Maame Hwe’ hitmaker’s dad has accused Bullet of treating him unfairly with regards to proceeds from his late daughter’s memorial concert.
In an interview with Accra-based Adom FM, Mr. Opoku Kwarteng claimed Bullet gave him GHC 2000 out of GHC 39, 999 that was accrued from the organization of a tribute concert for the late Ebony. Bullet has however refuted the claims saying that he has offered financial support to Mr. Opoku Kwarteng on countless times.
George in an exclusive interview with Zionfelix on Radio Universe sighted by Showbiz.com.gh, revealed the allegation leveled against Bullet by the Late Ebony’s father weren’t true because Mr. Kwarteng benefited more than the manager.
According to him, Mr. Kwarteng, father of the singer Ebony Reigns was given the GHC 2000 because a lot of money was deducted after the show of which the late Ebony’s father was aware of the situation. Although George admitted that the ‘Kupe’ hitmaker’s father was given that amount, he expressed that Mr. Kwarteng never complained to Bullet when he received the money.
‘’The event was organized by Kasapreko which they gave Bullet and his team 50, 000 to organize the event for her. First, they paid for the venue, they paid for the logistics over there. The second thing was Kasapreko had a tie-in contract with Bullet, at the gate, there was a particular person sent to collect money at the gate. Nana Opoku Kwarteng had his family member at the gate and that of RuffTown Records so right after the event they had to count all the money but I don’t know about the 39, 999. After they took out everything thus out of everything Kasapreko takes out GHC 3 which they did, aside from that they paid the bank, all this little money were deducted. So whatever that was left Bullet gave it to the man”
He, however, described the late Ebony’s father as a greedy man for not acknowledging the efforts of Bullet after the demise of the daughter.
‘’It was agreed and it was not like the man (Mr. Kwarteng) wasn’t aware of the deduction before Bullet gave the GHC 2000 too. The man had his representative there and everybody was there and saw Bullet gave the money that he deserves and it was about two months ago. Nobody talked about this only for this man to come back from his grave to attack” he told Zionfelix on the Brunch2Lunch entertainment show.
In a statement released Tuesday, Bullet announced that he has cut ties with the late Ebony and has further handed over her unreleased songs to her father. The statement said, “…the record label owns 60% royalties of Ebony Reigns’ unreleased songs but we are giving away full ownership to her father, Mr. Opoku Kwarteng”.
“All the unreleased songs that she wrote herself are owned by her father… If you wish to know more about when the songs will be coming out, please contact her father,” the statement added.
