The Ghana Education Service (GES) has scheduled the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE), 2023, for Monday 7 – Friday, August 11 across all examination centres in the Weija-Gbawe Municipality.
To ensure free, fair, and transparent conduct of 2023 BECE, headteachers of public and private schools, have been directed to observe the rules governing the exams.
The GES in a statement said, “As part of the Education Directorates’ effort to ensure free, fair and transparent conduct of 2023 B.E.C.E, all Headteachers of Public and Private Schools, Proprietors and Directors of Schools are hereby directed to observe the following rules and regulations governing the conduct of this year’s BECE.”
Among the directives, candidates have been cautioned not to go to the examination centre by wearing only flat open sandals.
“Candidates are to come to the examination centre with ONLY Flat Open Sandals, without socks. Candidates must be seated in the examination hall thirty minutes before time. Candidates who arrive after the supervisor has given the order to start work will be deemed to have arrived late, and not permitted to write the paper.”
Supervisors and Invigilators have also been authorized to thoroughly search all candidates.
The GES further warned to deal with candidates who enter the exams hall with foreign materials.
