Veteran Kumawood actor, Akwesi Boadi best known as Akrobeto has advised the vice president of Ghana, Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia to as much as possible have some time for his wife because, despite all his hard work, he can never fix Ghana in a day since Rome wasn’t built in a day.
Not long ago, Mrs. Samira Bawumia the wife of the Vice President was interviewed on Citi Breakfast and she revealed that the vice president works very hard and the vacation he recently had was very needed.
When asked by the host if the passion and commitment exhibited by the vice president are still strong as seen prior to the 2016 election, Samira Bawumia said:
“Absolutely. I see the commitment. I see the passion in him. It has not waned. He is still that man who wants to serve his country and works for a ridiculous number of hours.”
The second lady of Ghana also added that the office of the vice president takes most of his time including his family time but he tries as much as possible to spend time with the kids. She said:
“Public office does affect family life. You make a lot of sacrifices. There are meetings that run into the night but we understand it is service to the nation.”
“He spends as much as quality time with the kids as possible when he can and when he can’t I am there to pick up,” she said.
Well, Akrobeto believes that although Samira sounded like he was complimenting the husband, she was actually sending a message to Dr. Bawumia that he needs to have time for his family as well.
Akrobeto made these statements on his satiric news show on UTV known as ‘The Real News’.
“Although you are commending Bawumia, your statement carries proverbial weight,” Akrobeto said.
If you work, you need to also go home and spend time with the family because Rome was not built in a day. If Ghana will prosper it will not take a day to happen. So, get a time for your wife because she is proving a point,” he advised the Vice President.
