The High Court in Accra will continue the ongoing daily trial of James Gyakye Quayson, the elected Member of Parliament for Assin North today.
Previously, on June 29th, the High Court in Accra had adjourned the proceedings of the criminal trial due to an application for a stay of proceedings filed by Mr. Quayson.
The trial Judge, Justice Mary Yanzuh, explained that the adjournment was necessary because the court had not received all the required documents for the application.
The decision to adjourn came after Mr. Quayson appealed the daily trial order issued by Justice Mary Yanzuh to the Court of Appeal.
His legal team contends that the trial judge committed several legal errors that infringed upon Quayson’s right to a fair trial.
