Dancehall artiste Shatta Wale has dispelled rumours making the rounds that he is a member of the Freemason fraternity.
According to him, although he has nothing against such societies, he is not a member.
Rumours are rife that some entertainment personalities are pledging allegiance to Freemasonry and Illuminati, with some people alleging that Shatta Wale’s rise to fame and success in music is due to his association with these societies.
Reacting to rumours in an interview with Naa Ashorkor on Joy FM’s Showbiz A-Z on Saturday, the ‘Kakai’ hit singer said he believes in God.
“People think we are Freemason…we want to even change it to like free carpenters. People see us and they feel that this guy is dealing with occult…but you see…anybody that does not believe in God is in a sh*thole,” he said.
When asked whether he was a member, Shatta Wale was swift to respond, “I am not…how can I be a Freemason…I believe Shatta Movement is my Freemason” and that they only look up to God.
Recently, Zylofon Media boss, Nana Appiah Mensah courted some controversy on social media when he shared a riddle on Instagram.
“Today’s Riddle; I am the sun☀️ that riseth and seteth up above the realms and in the hades and heaven above the horizon; I AM A KING. The grandmaster above who seeth ALL things; good and evil, earth, fire, wind, blood and water with the all seeing eye!”?Horus” WHO I’M I? My name is “I AM”, I am GOD. #SupremeGod #AllseeingEye #SwordofJustice⚔️#WrathofGod #ProphecyManifestation #MomentsofDestiny”, he said in the post.
That post generated over a thousand comments with many concluding that he was a member of Freemasonry or Illuminati.
Asked if the boss of his music label, Zylofon Media, is a Freemason, Shatta Wale responded that, “he is my boss I don’t know maybe I have to ask him but if he is, that is a very prosperous one because I like the guy.”
“It’s a society so if people are in it…” he sees nothing wrong with it because “we have groups of people who do things themselves.”
The Freedom hit singer noted that there are myths about Freemasons but he has read into their activities and concluded that “it’s a normal thing. These are serious men who want to make it in life.”
Shatta Wale, who joined Zylofon Music on January 31, 2018, is set to release his third studio album, ‘Reign’.
The 17-track album will be released on October 13. The only featured act, according to him, is Nigeria artiste, Olamide.
“Reign is an album that I feel will let people know my two different words. It shows the other side[s] of me,” he explained.
