Asante Kotoko coach Abdul Gazale says the team’s goalkeeper Frederick Asare could have done better to prevent them from dropping points in their draw against Tamale City on Sunday night.

The Porcupine Warriors were held to a 1-1 draw by Tamale City at the Baba Yara Stadium in the Ghana Premier League matchday 29 clash. Kotoko who aimed to catch up with Hearts of Oak on the table opened the scoring through a stunning shot from Rocky Dwamena.

However, the visitors responded five minutes later when Mohammed Yahaya connected a brilliant cross from Liventius Arthur leaving Frederick Asare the goalkeeper helpless.

Gazale however believes Asare could have dealt with the cross in a better way to avoid the goal which caused them to drop points again.

“The players were just standing and could see our players were far behind the ball instead of attacking the ball, unfortunately, the goalkeeper too didn’t help, sometimes he has to save us, he has been doing it but this one, he got it wrong and I think it’s something we have to look at it,” he said after the game.

Kotoko remain sixth on the log as Tamale City sit 16th in the relegation zone. They are now seven points behind Aduana Stars who have an outstanding game to play on Monday afternoon.
