Kwesi Ernest of Media Excel fame has been a music producer and distributor with over a decade experience up his sleeves, but it looks like he does not enjoy the fruit of his labour whenever he sacrifices for musicians to reach higher heights in their music career.
This is because the musicians he sacrificed his time and resources on all defected from his camp at the peak of their career. Apart from Joyce Blessing who left Kwesi’s camp recently and resorted to maligning him in the media, Rose Adjei also parted ways with the producer at the peak of her music career in Ghana.
So, in response to the unfortunate happenings in the life of Kwesi Ernest that he has attributed his greatest regret in life to managing artistes without legal binding – contract. The CEO of Media Excel made the revelation to Agyeman Prempeh (Agyeman Nie) on Power Entertainment on Accra-based Power 97.9FM on Saturday when he appeared on the show as a panel member.
“One of the biggest mistakes in my life was managing artistes without entering into the contractual agreement with them,” he disclosed
Although Kwesi Ernest did not mention any of those musicians on the show while making his comments, however, Joyce Blessing and Rose Adjei are obviously the victims of the situation.
But responding to the rationale behind his failure to enter into agreements with musicians he managed in the past, he worryingly said: “it’s for the love of the job.” As a reminder, Kwesi Ernest and his Excel Media currently manage renowned gospel artiste SP Kofi Sarpong, Abena Ruthy, et al.
