The Northern Regional Security Council (REGSEC) has overturned, in consultation with the Mayor of Tamale himself, a ban on the holding of concerts at the Ali Mahama Sports stadium announced by the Tamale Mayor, Iddrisu Musah Superior.
A letter copied to MyNewsGH.com signed by the regional minister Alhassan Issahaku confirmed the reversal, advising the Tamale Metropolitan Assembly to come out with strict guidelines over the use of the Tamale Stadium for entertainment purposes.
The letter also advised all future events organizers to deal with the Tamale Metropolitan Assembly.
Late last month, MyNewsGH.com reported how the Municipal Chief Executive of Tamale, Iddrisu Musah Superior, announced that he has banned all concerts at the Tamale Sports Stadium until further notice.
His announcement followed an accident that claimed the lives of some fans of hiplife artiste Fancy Gadam on Friday ahead of his concert scheduled at the stadium.
Following the announcement, MUSIGHA offered to meditate while the PRO of Zylofon Cash said the Tamale Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) banning concerts at the Tamale Sports Stadium is “not a solution to bikers riding without helmets”.
Halifax Ansah Addo in an interview with Andy Dosty on Daybreak Hitz stated that Iddrisu Musah spoke out of anger and might reconsider his decision.
Some fans of Fancy Gadam including two workers of Zylofon Cash died in the accident when they were going to the Tamale Airport to welcome Patoranking ahead a concert.
