Member of Parliament for Nsawam Adoagyiri Frank Annoh-Dompreh is making a case for the reduction in the cost of goods and services following the reduction in transport fares.
Transport fares will be going down by 10 percent starting today Wednesday, May 17.
This comes on the back of the projection of a drop in fuel prices.
Transport operators in a statement on Monday, May 15 said “In line with the administrative arrangement on public transport fares, the road transport operators have reduced public transport fares by 10 percent to accommodate for the reduction in the price of petroleum products observed over the period.”
“We further request all operators, commuters and the general public to kindly cooperate for the successful implementation of the new fares”, the statement concluded.
Commenting on this development, Mr Annoh-Doimpreh who is also Majority Chief Whip said “Let’s keep working on reducing the cost of living and particularly ensuring that the masses benefit from it. The cost of goods & services must also be reduced.
“These are the due inheritance of the led. Jealously and passionately, let’s us focus on these…yes, we can!”
