It was the year 2014 when the Ghanaian national team, Black Stars, arrived in Brazil for the World Cup.
All eyes were on Ghana because it was believed at the time that the Black Stars was the star of Africa.
Just two days after the opening game between Brazil and Croatia, popular US-based Barbadian singer Robyn ‘Rihanna’ Fenty popped up.
In a tweet on June 16, 2014, the “Diamonds” hitmaker confessed her love for Ghana’s darling boy, Kevin Prince Boateng.
She tweeted a photo of Kevin with the caption: “Da Bae doe! I might have to be team Ghana on this one IDC IDC IDC“.
Her tweet attracted a huge number of retweets and comments from Ghanaians on Twitter. Among the people who reacted were singer Stonebwoy, actress Yvonne Nelson and rapper Joey B.
All the celebrities’ reactions attracted responses from fans but the one that blew up was Joey B’s.
The “U x Me” hitmaker responded to the tweet, saying “wo shashii life wei“(translates as ‘your promiscuous lifestyle’), referring to Rihanna as promiscuous.
“@rihanna: Da Bae doe! I might have to be team Ghana on this one idc idc idc http://t.co/lRAj7IYOxo” < wo shashii life wei 👌
