Former President John Dramani Mahama has said the National Democratic Congress (NDC) will adopt the style of Jehovah’s Witnesses and go round from door-to-do, house-to-house to campaign for the NDC.
“You will campaign like Jehovah’s Witnesses but this time you will be witnesses of NDC,” he said while interacting with delegates of the party in Sissala West on Tuesday, May 9.
Mr Mahama further said Ghanaians are calling for the NDC to return to the office.
“Ghanaians are asking the NDC to come back because they have realized that what they were told about the NDC, they were all lies,” he said.
He further criticized the Akufo-Addo administration for excessive borrowing.
Mr Mahama said when he was leaving office in 2016, the debt of Ghana was GHS120 billion with projects to show for it.
However, he said, at the moment, the debt is almost GHS600 billion with no projects to show.
Interacting with delegates of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Sissala West as part of his campaign to be elected flagbearer of the party, on Tuesday, May 9, Mr Mahama said ” When we were leaving office the debt was GHS120billion. Today, it is almost GHS 600 billion but with no infrastructure projects to show for.
“At least we should have clean drinking water, a hospital built, and infrastructure but unfortunately, that is not the case.”
