DO YOU AGREE Spirit-filled Gospel Songs Don’t Exist Again – Dada Hafco

Highlife musician and songwriter, Dada Hafo has expressed his view that Ghanaians can’t boost of good heart spirit-filled gospel songs in the country anymore.

According to him some of the gospel musicians don’t wait to be led by the spirit before they come out with a new song due to poor conditions surrounding the music circles.

Dada Hafco, however, urged Pastors to explore the business aspects of gospel music in order to help curb the issue of unemployment citing example like Nana Appiah who has been able to establish a record label for the artiste. According to Hafco, such initiative improves in promoting the gospel and encourages people to join the ministries which are also a result of winning souls for Christ.

Speaking to Zionfelix on Radio Univers’ Brunch2Lunch entertainment show, he posited “today’s gospel is not like Tagoe sisters, Ohemaa Mercy and Elder Mireku in the past now it doesn’t exit again, now it’s like every gospel musician is singing altercation songs .’’

When asked whether the gospel singers should be sponsored in their career; he said “Pastors should forget their lavish lifestyle should wait because it’s in heaven.  For example, what Zylofon is doing for mother Ghana has created employment’’

The ‘Yebewu Nti’ hitmaker, however, advised Pastors to learn the habit of nurturing the singers of their church which will help the singers to compete on the international gospel platforms and rather stop living sophisticated lives.

He also told Zionfelix that “Pastors should look up to Pastor Chris Oyakhilome and enumerate him, it will be very helpful because Pastor Chris has a music group ‘Love World Music Art which has produced superstar Sinach and others but when our Ghanaian pastor learns how to stop buying big cars. You will go to the internet to check car price of a pastor Rolls Royce about 450,000 dollars and you will hear another buying Bentley”

He noted that most of the Churches here in Ghana are blessed with a lot of talented members which needs pastor’s resources and focus in the grooming of such talents.  He emphasized that some of the singers in the churches are not given the platform to exhibit their God-given talents which is a contributing factor to the collapsing of the gospel music industry.

Hafco joins the likes of musician Akesse Brempong and several others who are seeking for backing from churches for the genre.
