My dad never wanted me to be a musician – Diana Hamilton [Video]

UK-based Ghanaian Gospel artiste, Diana Hamilton says her dad didn’t want her to be a musician.

She made the revelation in an interview with Andy Dosty on Daybreak Hitz on Hitz FM.

According to the “Mo Ne Yo” hitmaker, before she gained admission to Senior High School (SHS) her dad was advised to get her a music school but he shoved it aside.

Diana, who doubles as a nurse in the United Kingdom, added that her father wanted her to have a profession rather than living on her talent.

“I have never been to a music school. When I was about leaving for SHS, my headmaster told my dad to send me to a music school but he disagreed. He wanted me to work. He said I shouldn’t make a living out of singing. I am a nurse in UK but music is my work now…” she said.

The UK-based gospel singer is part of an impressive list of gospel giants billed to thrill patrons at the 2018 edition of Ghana’s biggest gospel music event, Adom Praiz.

Joining Diana Hamilton for the jam-packed night are veteran gospel musicians, Elder Mireku, Max Praise, Pastor Kwame Manukure, Kwaku Gyasi, Sax Vorsah, Willie & Mike and the Multimedia Choir.
