President Nana Akufo-Addo said that the New Patriotic Party will rally behind whichever candidate is chosen to lead the party going into the 2024 general elections.
According to the President, the new flagbearer of the Party will be able to unify the party despite a very “competitive voting” process.
The party is scheduled to hold it’s Presidential elections for all party delegates in November this year after Vice-President Mahamudu Bawumia emerged victorious in the Super Delegates Congress winning with a margin of 68.15%
Respoding to a question from Citi News’ Jude Mensa Duncan on claims the party’s internal elections had become acrimonious and hostile, the President was of the view that the Party will at the end of the day rally behind whichever candidate the delegates votes for.
“I believe at the end of the day and the competitive process the party will coalesce around the new leader, who will be able to lead us in a unified way into elections 2024”
